Luke Perry, Star of 90210 and Riverdale, Dies at 52

Luke Perry, who became a household name as a star of Beverly Hills, 90210, one of the most beloved franchises of the 1990s—and, later, found an entirely new audience via the Gen Z favorite Riverdale—has died. On February 27, the 52-year-old actor suffered a stroke in his home; according to TMZ, he died Monday morning in Burbank’s St. Joseph’s Hospital, with his family by his side.

According to TMZ, Perry’s children, fiancée, parents, ex-wife, siblings, and other close family and friends were all with Perry when he died. Perry’s representatives told TMZ that Perry had been sedated in hopes of helping his brain recover from the stroke, the damage of which apparently proved too extensive.

The heartthrob turned Riverdale star suffered a stroke on February 27.
